Bernadotte Township Chapter - Runway Ridge Project

PROJECT UPDATE ... The application for the Runway Ridge project has passed it's one-year anniversary.
Bernadotte N.O.P.E. members have many concerns regarding the a 20,000+ hog city [confinement] that was proposed for our quiet, back-country farm area of Elrod, diagonally across from the restored schoolhouse built in 1850.

This area has supported the tax base with many generations of family croplands. Fresh spring-water streams are located throughout the area, including streams on both sides of the proposed confinement.

Several comments have been made, stating "a little stink from a farm is normal" and no one has a quarrel with this; however, this was NOT a family farm project. This project was almost 7 times bigger than the Cedar Crest project (Table Grove/Ipava) of 3000 hogs.

Concerned Citizens of Bernadotte CARE about our community and are CONCERNED.
